Purpose

This
policy sets out the terms of statutory tenancy successions and the
Council’s policy on discretionary tenancy successions. It
also covers the circumstances under which tenancies may be assigned
(transferred) during the lifetime of the tenancy. The policy
relates exclusively to our social housing tenants, not including
those on introductory tenancies

Content

(1)       
That the Cabinet agreed the Housing Tenancy Succession and
Assignment Policy at Appendix 1 to this report.
 

(2)       
That the Cabinet agreed the Housing Tenancy Succession and
Assignment Policy shall be reviewed every 5 years by the Portfolio
Holder with responsibility for Housing and referred to Cabinet for
a decision if substantial changes were needed.
 

(3)       
That the Cabinet agreed to delegate authority for the Housing
Director to agree minor changes with the Portfolio Holder with
responsibility for Housing.
