Revocation of an Air Quality Management Area (Annual Mean Designation)

August 17, 2026 Environment & Regulatory Portfolio Holder (Cabinet member) Approved View on council website
Full council record

Purpose

Epping Forest District Council declared an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) at Bell Common in 2010, covering two residential properties, due to exceedances of nitrogen dioxide objectives for both annual mean and 1-hour mean concentrations. Ongoing monitoring over the past four years shows that annual mean nitrogen dioxide levels have remained below the threshold requiring an AQMA designation.

Decision

That the Portfolio Holder agrees to revoke Air Quality Management Area (Epping Forest District Council) (No.2), on the basis that air quality has improved.
