Crime and Disorder Committee

The Crime and Disorder Committee is responsible for developing the council's response to crime and disorder issues, including counter-terrorism activities and strategy. It oversees the council's approach to PREVENT and PROTECT initiatives and considers council-led crime and disorder projects not covered by the Community Safety Partnership. The committee can make decisions on Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) and makes recommendations to the Strategy and Resources Committee for expenditure outside the Full Council's approved budget. Members of the public living, working, or owning land in the Borough can ask questions or make statements on matters within the committee's remit.
