Purpose

To update the Executive on the
outcome of the Fareham Housing Later Living Strategy and seek approval for
adoption.

 

The Later Living Strategy details
the renewed approach to Fareham Housing’s sheltered housing service.  The term ‘later living’ replaces the outdated
name of ‘sheltered housing’ to remove the old-fashioned connotations that
surround it.

 

At its meeting on 20 May 2025,
The Executive approved the policy for six weeks of public consultation.  This was undertaken from 4 June to 18 July
2025.  The report summarises the outcome
of the consultation and requests the document be adopted.  

Decision

RESOLVED that the Executive:

 

(a)  notes
the outcome of the consultation;

 

(b)  agrees
that the Fareham Housing Later Living Strategy, as attached at Appendix A to
the report, be adopted; and

 

(c)  agrees
to delegate authority to make minor amendments needed, such as in response to
future updates to Government guidance or corrections, to the Director of
Housing, following consultation with the Executive Member for Housing.
