Purpose

To update the Executive on the outcome of the Fareham Housing Battery Powered Mobility Aids Policy and seek approval for adoption.

The Fareham Housing Battery Powered Mobility Aids Policy describes the safety requirements surrounding ownership, the process for requesting permission as well as the requirements for safe storage, use and charging.

At its meeting on 3 June 2025, the Executive approved the policy for 6 weeks public consultation.  The report summarises the outcome of the consultation and requests the adoption of the policy.

Decision

RESOLVED that the Executive:

(a)  notes the outcome of the consultation:

(b)  agrees that the Fareham Housing Battery Powered Mobility Aids Policy, as attached at Appendix A to the report, be adopted; and

(c)  agrees to delegate authority to make minor amendments needed, such as in response to future updates to Government guidance or corrections, to the Director of Housing, following consultation with the Executive Member for Housing.
