Purpose

To seek approval for the funding
arrangements for the redevelopment of 130-136 West Street, Fareham (formerly Birks
Furniture Store), and the process towards the appointment of contractors to deliver
the scheme.

 

Further details surrounding the
funding arrangements, including the total estimated project cost, are provided
in the confidential Appendix A to the report.

 

The report also seeks Executive
approval for delegated authority to enable the timely appointment of a suitable
contractor to build out the scheme.

 

 

Decision

RESOLVED that the Executive:

 

(a)  approves
the funding mechanisms for the redevelopment of 130-136 West Street in Fareham,
to provide a new Birks Building consisting of affordable housing and ground
floor commercial space, as outlined in the Confidential Appendix A to the
report; and

 

(b)  delegates
authority to the Director of Housing and Health, following consultation with
the Executive Member for Housing to appoint a building contractor to deliver
the homes following an appropriate tender process.
