Purpose

To brief the Executive on the
proposal for Electric Vehicle Charge Points (EVCP) at the Fareham Innovation
Centre (FIC) and to seek a budget via the use of retained business rates from
the Solent Enterprise Zone for their installation.

 

The installation of two 22kW EVCP
at the FIC is proposed, with the flexibility to expand the provision in
response to future demand.

 

Initial usage estimates suggest
the financial business case may not return the initial capital investment in a
standalone basis. It is therefore proposed that retained business rates collected
from businesses located in the boundary of the SEZ at Daedalus are used to fund
this.

Decision

RESOLVED that the Executive
approves a budget of £50,000 to be added to the capital programme and the use
of retained business rates from the Solent Enterprise Zone for the installation
of Electric Vehicle Charging Points at Fareham Innovation Centre.
