Purpose

To seek approval for the annually
reviewed Corporate Strategy document, including the categorisation of the
delivery speed of Corporate Projects.

 

The Corporate Strategy provides a
clear focus on the most important issues to be addressed for the 2023-2029
Strategy period.  This annual review is
an opportunity to consider progress made and notable achievements in delivering
corporate priorities since the last review completed in December 2024.

 

Devolution and Local Government
Reorganisation (LGR) have emerged as the biggest issues in the sector in
generations.  If LGR progresses in line
with the proposed Government timeline, Fareham Borough Council will cease to
exist from April 2028.

 

Our Corporate Strategy currently
runs from 2023-2029. Considering the shortened life of the Council, this review
presents a proposal for the strategy period to run until 2028.  Approval is also sought to categorise the delivery
speed of corporate projects, to help ensure that the Council’s limited
resources are allocated to projects according to their importance,
deliverability and continued relevance beyond the life of Fareham Borough
Council.

Decision

RESOLVED that the Executive approves:

 

(a)  the
proposed changes to the Corporate Strategy document;

 

(b)  the
categorisation of the delivery speed of corporate projects; and

 

(c)  recommends
the Annual Review of the Corporate Strategy 2023-2029 to Council for approval,
subject to any further amendments.
