Purpose

To seek approval for the draft
Corporate Peer Challenge (CPC) Progress Review Position Statement for approval,
which will support a progress review by the Peer Team in December 2025.

The Corporate Peer Challenge
(CPC) is a free peer review process run by the Local Government Association
(LGA).  The Peer Challenge team visited
the Council between 10 and 12 March 2025.
They interviewed and ran workshops with officers and Councillors from
across the organisation.

The 3 June Executive approved the
publishing of the Peer Team’s feedback report which presented a very positive
picture of the Council as an organisation and a partner.  The report presented a
number of key recommendations related to the Peer Team’s findings
alongside an action plan.

This report presents a draft
Progress Review Position Statement, which outlines the actions taken against
each recommendation.  If approved, it
will be forwarded to the LGA, alongside a data pack of documents evidencing the
progress made e.g. updated Corporate Strategy, ahead of an in-person review by
members of the original Peer Challenge Team taking place on 9 December 2025.

Decision

RESOLVED that the Executive:

(a)  notes
the progress made in actioning the CPC recommendations; and

(b)  approves
the Draft Progress Review Position Statement, as attached at Appendix A to the
report.
