Purpose

To seek Executive approval for a contract variation for the Fareham Housing Concrete Repairs Contract. This 3-year contract (with Walstone Specialist Building Services Limited) was approved by the Executive on 3 November 2025.

The contract covers the financial years 2026/27 to 2028/29 – providing essential concrete repairs to 18 Blocks of Maisonettes within the Council’s Housing stock.

The tender sum requires a correction via contract variation to be approved by the Director of Housing and Health following consultation with the Executive Member for Housing.  This correction does not and would not have altered the tender process outcome.

The contract expenditure has been incorporated in annual Housing Revenue Account budgets, and the future spend is reflected in budget forecasting for the respective financial years.

Decision

RESOLVED that the Executive:

(a)  delegates associated contract variations to the Director of Housing and Health, following consultation with the Executive Member for Housing; and

(b)  agrees an overall increase to the tender sum and contract expenditure which will include an additional contingency sum and a CPI increase for year 3 scheduled works, as outlined in confidential Appendix A.
