Full council record
Purpose
This report presents
an application for funding under the Council’s Community Funding
Programme.
An application has been received from
Funtley Village Society for £819.01 from the Community Fund towards equipment
for the Funtley Village Fete taking place on 29 June. This event equipment
includes fencing, competition equipment, hi-vis vests, awards and signage. Most
items can be reused for future fetes.
Funtley Fete is a popular
biannual event with around 2000 people attending the fete back in
2022[EB1] .
The fete will be promoted via their website, Facebook page, leaflets
distributed locally, in the community noticeboards and also in the local
magazine ‘Forget Me Not’.
Funtley Village Society fundraise where possible for the fete and for
additions around the village. They also seek donations from local businesses
and apply for grants that are available elsewhere.
The total cost of the equipment
for the event which they require is £819.01. These are for capital costs only.
Funtley Village Society will be funding the non-capital costs including
insurance, portaloos and equipment hire, with their own funds.
As of 10th February, after their ringfenced money (£1,464) for
village information boards, Funtley Village Society holds £3,835.30 in their
accounts.
Both Ward Councillors, Mrs Bryant and Mrs Clubley support
Funtley Village Society’s application.
[EB1]Is
the fete held every year or every other year?
