Purpose

This report presents
an application for funding under the Council’s Community Funding
Programme. 

 

An application to the Community Fund
has been received from Stubbington Football Club for £4,999 from the Community
Fund towards the purchase of portable football goals.

 

Stubbington Football Club
provide access to grassroots football for nearly 500 players from age 4 to
adult in the local community. However, beyond the club, the broader improvement
of the quality of pitches will improve facilities for other users, with less
wear and tear for example, on the cricket outfield and improvements in the
quality of the surface within and beyond the football season for other general
community users - whether dog walkers, young families
or teenagers/young people. The wider community can also benefit from the wider
facilities, such as enabling goals to be used during community events.

 

The total cost of the project is
£10,569. Stubbington Football Club are looking for £4,999 from the Community
Fund, with the remainder being funded by the Football Foundation (£5,000) and
the Stubbington Football Club reserves.

 

As of 28 March 2024, Stubbington
Football Club held £23,518.46 in their accounts. In the accounting year 2023-24
there was an income of £88,357.27 and expenditure of £95,604.44.

 

Both Ward Councillors, Councillor Hayre and Councillor
Needham supports Stubbington Football Club’s funding application.
