Reasons for the decision

Material stocks are required to support the Council’s refuse and cleansing service so that there are no interruptions to the service. Therefore, stocks are essential for the day-to-day activities of the service. An ESPO framework is available to the C ouncil already pre-tendered to allow orders to be raised to approved suppliers by direct award or mini competitions

Alternative options considered

Tender for supplies just for FDC only, this would not give us the economies of scale we currently enjoy using the ESPO buying Consortium and wider ranging offer.
