Decision

To approve a contract with Newlyn PLC from 1st December 2026 for the next one year with the option to extend for a further year which will benefit the Council financially.  Decision to stay with current contract due to value for money and good service provided.

Reasons for the decision

The current contract is based on ad hoc costs relating to the debt recovery of the Council’s debts as part of the Council Debt Policy and to date has provided a god service and value for money. 

Alternative options considered

ARP offer a similar service, but they would deduct 15% from the monies recovered whilst Newlyns’ are currently 12.5%.
