Purpose

To provide an update on the introduction of
the proposed deposit return scheme and extended producer
responsibility by the UK and Welsh Governments.

Content

(a)       That the content of
the report and update provided on the deposit return scheme (DRS)
and extended producer responsibility (EPR) for packaging, which are
being progressed by Welsh Government and UK Government respectively
be noted; and
 
(b)       That it be noted
that a further report will be presented to relevant committees once
further details about the DRS and EPR are known, as recommended by
the Environment and Economy Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
