Purpose

To update Cabinet on the current unpaid carers
services in Flintshire including the outcome of the recent
procurement exercise and review by the ombudsman.

Content

That
Cabinet:
 

(a)       Acknowledges the
update on the process of recommissioning unpaid carers
services;
 

(b)       Acknowledges the
outcome of the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales (PSOW)
“Own Initiative” Investigation into Carers Services and
the progress made against the resulting action plan; and
 

(c)        Acknowledges
the positive work underway with the North East Wales Carers
Information Service (NEWCIS) to develop our unpaid carers services
and the Carers Centre as a hub for unpaid carers in
Flintshire.
