Purpose

To provide a review of the 2025 grass season
in readiness for spring/summer operations recommencing in March
2026.

Content

RESOLVED:
 
(a)       That the work of the
portfolio in its delivery of grass cutting services across the
county be noted;
 
(b)       That the
preparations being made for the 2026 grass cutting season be
acknowledged;
 
(c)        That the
proposal for a public consultation to be held to better understand
public perception of biodiversity and approaches to managing
grassland areas with a further report to be presented on the
outcome of the consultation be supported; and
 
(d)       That options
available for weed control be considered and the recommendation
from the Environment and Economy Overview and Scrutiny Committee
for a weed control policy to be developed and presented following
the public consultation be supported.
