Purpose

To approve the write off of bad debts for Business Rates in excess of £25,000.

Decision

(a)      That the four write offs in respect of business rates for Westbridge Furniture Ltd (£132,648.38), TG Jones Ltd (£110,001.99), Poundstretcher Ltd (£26,086.81) and KCC Ltd (£43,812.94) be approved; and

(b)      That it be noted that the financial impact of writing off these balances is not borne directly by the Council.  The amounts would instead represent a loss to the national collection pool, rather than creating a direct financial loss to the Council’s own resources.
