CONSIDERATION OF OBJECTIONS TO AN AMENDMENT TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER FOR THE ZONE C FOLKESTONE SEA FRONT AND THE STADE AREA
August 24, 2023 Cabinet Member for Transport, Regulatory Services and Building Control (Cabinet member) Awaiting outcome View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
This report considers the objections received in respect of the proposed amendment Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) to introduce a loading ban on existing At Any Time restrictions and the installation of two dedicated loading bays.
Decision
DECISION:
- 1. To receive and note Report C/23/25.
- 2. That officers proceed with making the amendment TRO as proposed for Zone C with the exception of the loading bay outside units 1-4 Fish Market which will instead be in Beach Street adjacent to the fountain.
- That the amendment be reviewed 6 months after implementation.
Reasons for decision:
The Cabinet Member for Transport is asked to agree the recommendations because:
a) Residents and businesses have been having difficulties accessing properties due to inconsiderate parking close to junctions and on corners, including being blocked in the dedicated permit/shared use bays.
b) The proposal ensures dedicated loading bays to facilitate businesses and residents.
