Purpose

This report requests approval for the support of the Charivari Day youth development initiative, in partnership with Strange Cargo, and notes that a range of other investments to support activities involving school and college age children / youth will be made through the financial years 2026/27 and 2027/28 totalling an investment of up to £90,000.

Decision

DECISION:

  1. 1.          To receive and note Report C/26/05.
  2. 2.          To agree FHDC funding of £20,000 in 2026/27 and, subject to satisfactory performance, £20,000 for 2027/28, funding the Charivari Day project for 2 years.
  3. 3.          To agree that a further £50,000 will be available through 2026/27 and 2027/28 to support a range of other activities targeted to support school and college age / youth development across the district.
  4. 4.          To note that updates on these activities will be formally reported through normal channels.
