Archaeological Survey for Elm Tree Planting at West Hythe for Butterfly Conservation
July 15, 2026 Cllr Stephen Scoffham - North Downs East (Other) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
Archaeological survey needed to allow elm planting at W Hythe to proceed. This was not included in FHDC grant already awarded.
Decision
Amount Awarded £495.00
Decision Reason:
The proposal to plant elm trees along the Royal Military Canal at West Hythe was supported by a Green Grant last year but had to be halted because the canal is a scheduled monument requiring an archaeological survey. This application is for funds for the archaeological survey and I happy to approve it.
