Purpose

This report sets out the results of the recent informal consultation for a proposed controlled parking zone (CPZ) Zone B extension to include Marten Road. The consultation was designed to seek the views of residents and businesses in Marten Road about possible changes to the current parking arrangements.

Decision

DECISION:

  1. 1.          To receive and note report C/26/41.
  2. 2.          That a statutory consultation be undertaken on a proposed amendment to the Traffic Regulation Order to incorporate Marten Road within CPZ Zone B and introduce permit holder parking restrictions operating between 9.00am and 11.00am, Monday to Friday.
  3. 3.          That, in the event of any objections being received during the statutory consultation period, the council's Highway Engineer submit a further report to the Cabinet Member for Transport detailing the objections received and setting out recommendations for consideration.

Reasons for decision:

The Cabinet Member for Transport, Regulatory Services and Building Control is asked to agree the recommendations because the responses received indicate that the majority of respondents are in favour of extending the CPZ to include Marten Road.
