About

The Joint Consultative and Safety Committee serves as a discussion and consultation forum between Gedling Council and trade union representatives regarding matters affecting council employees. It considers employee terms and conditions, and health and well-being.

The committee makes recommendations to the Appointments and Conditions of Service Committee on employee terms, conditions, and disciplinary procedures. It also advises the Head of Paid Service on proposals for significant changes to the coordination of council functions, staffing levels and grades, and staff organisation. Furthermore, it consults on and recommends to the Executive regarding the council's health and safety functions as an employer.
