Purpose

To seek approval to extend the existing
concession contract with Nottingham City Council for the Gedling
Country Park Café under Regulation 43(1)(b) of the
Concessions Contracts Regulations 2016.

Decision

It is recommended that:
Approval is granted to extend the existing concession contract with
Nottingham City Council until 31 December 2025, under Regulation
43(1)(b) of the Concessions Contracts Regulations 2016, to allow
sufficient time for the preparation and completion of a lease
agreement.

Reasons for the decision

The extension is necessary to allow sufficient
time for the preparation and execution of a lease agreement,
ensuring continuity of service. By following the relevant
legislation this can be achieved whilst remaining compliant with
necessary regulations.

Alternative options considered

Alternative options:
Do not extend the contract and allow it to expire on 30 September
2025.This would result in a gap in service provision and delay the
transition to a lease arrangement.
Proceeding without an extension may increase the risk of
operational disruption and reputational impact if visitors to
Gedling Country Park are not able to use and enjoy the Café
facilities.
