Purpose

To seek approval to grant a Lease for premises
known as Gedling Country Park Café

Decision

It is recommended that the Leader of the
Council:
1.Approves the granting of a lease for premises at Gedling Country
Park Café, shown edged red on the Plan at Appendix 1.
2.Approves the Heads of Terms for the granting of a lease, attached
at Appendix 2.
3.Delegates authority to the Property Services Manager, in
consultation with the Director of Operations and Legal Services to
negotiate and approve the form of the lease and agreement for
lease.

Reasons for the decision

To enable the granting of a lease for Gedling
Country Park Café

Alternative options considered

Do not offer a lease and look to establish a
further management contract however this would result in a gap in
service provision and require additional Legal and Procurement
work.
The Council operate and manage the space directly. However, this
would require a substantial resource and there are also issues with
regards TUPE regulations employment rights that would need to be
addressed in this scenario. Significantly increased management and
operational demands would be required, and these are not available
to the Council at this time.
As the current contract is due to expire at the end of December
2025, to do nothing is not an option.
