To grant approval for assignment of the lease.

Reasons for the decision

The assignment is permitted within the lease terms and carries a low risk of any negative implications to the Council.

Alternative options considered

Not to allow the assignment of the lease however as this may result in alienating a good and long-standing tenant. Contractually there is no real reason that the Council could refuse so to do so may also risk Legal challenge.
