Purpose

The report details a revised set of Fees and
Charges for the Building Control Service and seeks approval for
their introduction from 1st April 2024.

Decision

a)To approve the revised Fees and Charges for
2024/25 as detailed in Appendix 1.
b)To approve the price revisions to be introduced from 1 April
2024.

Reasons for the decision

To contribute to the delivery of a balanced
budget both in 2024/25 and in the medium term and satisfy statutory
requirements.

Alternative options considered

In accordance with legislation, the charge
must not exceed the cost of providing the service. The only
alternative, therefore, is to provide a subsidy, which is not in
line with the proposals contained in the Medium Term Financial
Plan.
