To gain approval from the Portfolio Holder for the following street names to be used for the LAND SOUTH OF MAIN STREET, CALVERTON development.
Brackenbury Close
Cupitt Road
Musson Way
Withers Drive

Decision

The suggested name would comply with Gedling Borough Council Street Naming and Numbering Policy (March 2020)

Reasons for the decision

The four names chosen are the surnames of deceased local councillors. They have been chosen to honour the work these councillors did on behalf of Calverton.

Alternative options considered

The councillor’s names were provided by Calverton Parish Council in order of preference. Brown was excluded because the councillor passed away recently. Using this name would not conform to best practice for street naming and numbering. Excluding Brown, the top four parish council preferences were chosen. It was decided not to use the names of fallen soldiers for this development.
