Decision

1. that Members support the application to the NLHF to secure a sustainable future for New Tavern Fort and Chantry and note the requirements for a 10% cash contribution from the Council of £42,500 towards a (R1) Development bid, to be met from the Corporate Priorities Reserve;
2. if successful in acquiring Round 1 Development grant funding, that Members in principle support a future Round 2 (R2) Delivery Grant application for approximately £3.9m to carry out works to the site; and
3. delegated authority be granted to the Director (Communities) in consultation with the Leader, the Director (Corporate Services) (in the role of S151 officer) and the Monitoring Officer, to take all necessary practical, financial and legal actions required to support the funding application(s) for R1 and R2 and facilitate the delivery of the project to secure the conservation of the New Tavern Fort and Chantry.
