Purpose

This is a set of Ministry of Justice victims of crime grant funding extensions to cover the remainder of financial year 2026/27. These agreements have previously received short-term extensions for 2026/27 via decision notice on 2 X 3-month basis as below:
• 1st April – June 30th
• 1st July – September 30th

The previous shorter-term extension were in order to allow for a full review of delivery outcomes from these grant extensions to be undertaken, along with a process of due diligence on the deliverables and added value from these legacy grant awards.

This process has now taken place, with assurance provided via quantitative reports from providers on grant deliverables as well as a series of meetings with suppliers to explore future working opportunities on longer-term grant funding.

The final report of ‘GM Victims Voice for Change’, which is a GMCA commissioned independently delivered review into specialised victim support services in Greater Manchester is now complete. The principal recommendations of this report broadly support the renewal of these grants which primarily focus on support to specific victim cohorts. Principle 6 - ‘Specialist and by-and-for provision is essential’ alludes to this particularly. This report has been informed by fieldwork engaging the victims sector including lived experience, operational practitioners and other commissioners of support services such as local authorities.

Decision

£142,942.72 be committed to award 6-month extensions to DA/SV Funding/Core Grant Ministry of Justice Victims grant funding agreements that support victims of crime. Funded organisations are detailed on the PDF copy of the Decision Notice.
