The Guildford and Waverley Joint Senior Staff Committee is responsible for appointing senior officers for both Guildford Borough Council and Waverley Borough Council. Established under the Local Government Act 1972, it handles the recruitment and selection of the Joint Chief Executive/Head of Paid Service and other designated senior officer roles as defined by regulations. The committee's membership includes the leaders of both councils and four appointed councillors.
