A three month extension allows officers to go
to open tender on the ESPO framework for a new 4 year contract for
the food supplier at The Hive.

Reasons for the decision

The current food contract at The Hive expires
on 31st March 2025. Whilst we started proceedings to go out to open
tender, legal and procurement delays has meant that there is not
enough time to go to open tender before the contract expiry date. A
three month extension allows us to go to open tender for a new
contract, whilst maintaining food provision at The Hive for
vulnerable people.

Alternative options considered

To ensure that we have time to go to open
tender for a new contract, a three-month extension is required to
ensure food provision does not cease.
