The current lease is protected under Part II
of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and the contractual term
expired on 23rd Oct 2023.
A notice under Section 25 of the Act must be served to bring this
contractual term to an end.
The Council is prepared to grant a new lease to the Doner Brothers
Ltd for a term of 10 years at a rent of £21,000pa with a
tenant break and rent review in the 5th year.
This provides the ‘best consideration reasonably
obtainable’ where the proposed term exceeds seven (7)
years.
