Purpose

Lease Renewal of Protected Lease where an
extension of a further 3 months to the court timetable is to be
applied for via service of a S29b request. This will allow
negotiations between the legal teams in respect of the new lease to
continue to progress further. The lease term of the expiring
agreement ended on 27th July 2022 but was extended by a S29a
request to 27 October 2022, a further S29a requests which extended
to 27 January 2023, 27/4/23, 27/6/23 and 27/8/23. This will be a
further extension.

Content

To agree to requesting the court for another
extension of 3 months in the timetable for a court hearing date to
be set, to allow further time for the new lease between the Council
and the tenant to be concluded.

This follows the previously approved DAs for the various S 29a
extension requests and the original DA dated 20-1-2022 authorising
the service of the S.25 notice served on 20th January 2022 in
connection with the lease renewal.

The tenant is the Secretary of State for Levelling up, Housing and
Communities.
