Purpose

Montezuma’s Chocolates Ltd. held a 6
year lease of the shop at 126 High Street in Guildford from 29th
April 2021.

This company entered administration in June 2023 and the Great
British Confectionary Group Ltd. (GBCG) purchased the company
assets during the administration proceedings.

The original lease to Montezumas is therefore now void but GBCG
continue to operate from the shop and have expressed an interest to
contract a new lease directly with the Council.

It is therefore proposed to grant a Tenancy at Will to GBCG whilst
the terms of a new lease of the above premises are negotiated. This
tenancy shall be a nil rent but with the tenant covering all other
occupational costs
