Ash Parish Council has produced a draft
statutory Neighbourhood Development Plan. In accordance with the
regulations, it is holding a six-week consultation on the
draft.
The decision is to submit a response to the statutory
pre-submission (regulation 14) consultation on the draft Ash
Neighbourhood Plan.

Reasons for the decision

Officers have reviewed the draft Ash
Neighbourhood Plan and consider that there are a number of policies
that could negatively impact the Local Plan, the Development
Management process, and where policies may not comply with national
guidance and policy. Responding with objections and suggestions at
the regulation 14 stage enables the parish council to address these
issues before submission to the Council. The Council provides
comments to help the neighbourhood plan have the best chance at the
post-submission statutory examination.

Alternative options considered

The only alternative is not to respond.
However, doing so fail to fulfil the Council's statutory obligation
to support the neighbourhood planning process.
