To extend the secondment agreement between
Guildford Borough Council and Waverley Borough Council for the role
of Interim Joint Assistant Director of Strategy and Corporate
Services.

To extend the secondment for an additional period of 6
months to allow for the permanent advertisement and recruitment to
the role with no break in service delivery.

Reasons for the decision

To allow for the permanent advertisement and
recruitment to the role with no break in service
delivery.

Alternative options considered

Allowing the secondment to lapse – this
would lead to a lack of leadership in the team and collaborative
productive work would be at risk. Consideration was given to short
term
external support but continuing existing arrangement is better
value for money.
