The Leader made the following
announcements.
 
Guildford Lido Open
Day
To celebrate the year-round
opening of Guildford Lido, visitors can enjoy a spectacular free
Open Day packed with swimming, workshops and fun for all
ages.  The event will run from 11am to
4pm on Saturday 18 October. You’ll need to
book your place in advance on the Guildford Lido
website.
The Lido has now moved to its
new winter programme and will continue operating all year, with the
usual extended opening hours returning each summer.
 
Future vision for the Electric
Theatre to be explored with the community
We’ve begun exploring
options to secure the future of the much-loved Electric Theatre.
The community arts and theatre venue was handed back to the Council
by the previous leaseholder in August. We are organising a
roundtable discussion to bring interested parties together. This
will be an opportunity to explore ideas, share visions and help
shape a sustainable future for the Electric Theatre.
No decisions have been made at
this stage but those wishing to register their interest in the
future use of the Electric Theatre are invited to email AssetMan@guildford.gov.uk 
 
Street art transforms Old
Orleans building
We recently invited a group of
talented street artists to give the Old Orleans building a
makeover. It’s part of the next phase of our Street Art
Project, which looks to transform public spaces and use art to
create a greater sense of place and pride. 
We’re grateful to the
artists who donated their time and expertise free of
charge.
 
Cleaner Air Day is a
success
As part of our priority to make
Guildford a more sustainable borough, we held our second Cleaner
Air Day on Sunday 28 September. The High Street was filled with
live music, fun activities, market traders and delicious food
stalls. The day provided an opportunity for residents to better
understand the role they play in improving Guildford’s air
quality.

worked hard to make this such a fantastic event!
