Extension of contract with Bracknell Forest
for 1 year whilst a full procurement process is undertaken

Reasons for the decision

The contract with Bracknell Forest expired on
30 September 2025. The provision of an out of hours call handling
service is essential to meet our responsibilities for Emergency
Planning.
The extension of the contract for one year will give us time to
carry out a full procurement process to secure a longer term
service provider.

Alternative options considered

Not having a contract in place - unacceptable
situation.
