Procurement of IT headsets to support the
needs of IT users at the Council.

Reasons for the decision

Guildford's ICT team issues and maintains ICT
equipment for the Council. Working stock of some types of
peripheral equipment is now low or exhausted. It was therefore
considered necessary to purchase a small quantity to ensure stock
is available to enable Officers and Councillors to perform their
roles, and for any other scenario the ICT team is asked to
support.

Alternative options considered

Three quotes were sought for a range of IT
peripherals (headsets, keyboards, mice, docking stations and
monitors) from suppliers that the Council has purchased from
previously. The suppliers came back with a range of options that
were considered against the specification provided to them, with
price being a significant part in the evaluation. The most suitable
of the lower-cost options was chosen. As each product type was
considered individually, the requirement for IT headsets was
awarded to Sumillion Limited.
