Chester Bridge/Ash Road Bridge –
transfer of land from Guildford Borough Council (‘GBC’)
to Surrey County Council (‘SCC’) being part of the land
which is being adopted by SCC.

Reasons for the decision

This transfer of land is being completed
pursuant to a Section 38 agreement relating to Chester Bridge/Ash
Road Bridge which was entered into by GBC with SCC and landowners
on 22 June 2023 (as varied pursuant to a deed of variation to be
entered into prior to this transfer).
That Section 38 agreement (as varied) requires this land, which
forms part of the road bridge land being adopted by SCC, to be
transferred to SCC within 1 month of SCC issuing the Final
Certificate for adoption of Chester Bridge/Ash Road Bridge.
