Direct award with Thermo King UK Ltd for a 3 +
1 maintenance and servicing contract with a total value of
£3,750.72 + VAT (inclusive of extension year).
This contract is for the Platinum Assist Contract, which
includes:
Routine Preventative Maintenance
Unscheduled Repair
24 Hr. Emergency Call Out
All Parts & Consumables
Automated Service Scheduling
All Administration
MFS Call Centre (Staffed 24hr everyday)

Reasons for the decision

Market research showed there were very few
suppliers that were able to offer a maintenance contract on the
Thermo King 40ft freezer with 24/7 call out.

Alternative options considered

It was possible to continue using the 40ft
freezer without a maintenance and servicing contract in place,
however this could result in expensive call out fees if there was
an issue. Additionally, without a 24/7 callout option, we would
risk losing 4 weeks of rotating Community Meals stock if they
defrosted whilst waiting for a company to come to site to offer
repair. For these reasons, this option was considered not
suitable.
