Reasons for the decision
The Council has gone through the procurement
process for threshold for level 2 because the original quote
received for these roofing works was £5,738.50. The
scaffolding has been erected, the Council’s Surveyor has
inspected the roof, and further works are deemed necessary. As
above, the original cost is £5,738.50. The revised cost will
be £9,917.67. Without undertaking the additional works there
is no guarantee that the Council can provide a wind and watertight
roof for its tenant. Further, since the scaffolding is already in
situ, it makes sense to utilise this to complete the additional
works.
Alternative options considered
The decision meets the statutory / policy
requirements for the Council and there were no alternative options
available.
