To approve the construction of a permissive
path at the edge of the grounds of St Martin’s Court to
enable the completing of The Hart Trail which promotes connectivity
to local services and facilities in the Horsley’s for
residents.

Reasons for the decision

Approving the permissive path at St
Martin’s Court is necessary to complete the planned route of
The Hart Trail, provide a continuous and accessible walking link to
local services and facilities, and supporting sustainable travel
and accessibility for the local community. This aligns with the
Council’s priority to be a more sustainable borough.

Alternative options considered

Refusal of the request – considered but
rejected as the path is considered to have the potential to deliver
health and wellbeing benefits for the local community and supports
the Council’s priorities. As a permissive path, use can be
revoked if any issues arise.
