To award a contract to Safe TM. Total contract value £84,000

Reasons for the decision

Street scenes has used Safe TM since the previous high speed road contractor went into administration many years ago. Street Cleaning spoke to our high speed road trainer who recommended Safe TM and have used them ever since. Street Cleaning require traffic management to be able to clear flytips and litterpick high speed roads. The team have to book the road traffic management in advance as the roadspace has to be booked. The team have already created the PO's for the required TM in 2026 and started planning for the coming years. If this is not granted, the team will not be able to carry out our statutory duty of clearing waste on high speed roads.
The maximum possible spend is £42,000 per year. As the team has already booked/ planned the work required for this year and next year, they would like to enter into a two-year contract with Safe TM to meet immediate needs. The Procurement team has advised them to review whether there are any alternative suppliers that could be considered in the future after the 2 years period.
