To enter a three year contract with Thomson Reuters for provision of online legal resources and case law.

Reasons for the decision

Both GBC and WBC have historical contracts with Thomson Reuters for online legal resources with a greater historical discount at GBC than WBC. Given the shared service Thomson Reuters will now only enter a single contract with the team for 33 users. Whilst the original negotiation was only for a 1 year contract the offer that is being made will result in a saving of £36,022.99 over a three year period. It will also place West Surrey Council in a stronger negotiating position in future.

Alternative options considered

Consideration was given to reduced licensing but this significantly impacts on the teams ability to deliver services.
