The key-tracker system ensures that keys, which provide access to equipment across the parking estate and including payment machines, are only accessible by authorised staff and ensures that any keys issued to these staff can be traced for security reasons.
This is a secure, robust cabinet that holds multiple key, maintains security and can only be accessed by those authorised to do so.

Reasons for the decision

The current, secure key-tracking equipment is 'end-of-life' and will no longer be supported from early 2027. A procurement has been conducted with 3 quotes and the most best value solution (technical capability, longevity and cost).

Alternative options considered

None at this time as procurement exercise followed.
