Decision
This decision supports the Guildford Corporate Strategy priorities, A More Sustainable Borough and A More Prosperous Borough.
These corporate strategies aim to help our business base become greener, environmentally sustainable, and adaptable to changes. This will involve providing support and information to businesses in our area which will help them decarbonise their operations and improve the environmental sustainability of their supply chains.
This support will aid businesses fundamentally change how they operate by putting environmental considerations at their heart.
By providing membership of the Meshwork, CPD Essentials platform to those practitioners in the borough we will be support best practice, a green network and sustainability learning for one year as a pilot at a cost of £2449.50 to be split between Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils.
Reasons for the decision
To create an online green network locally for built environment practitioners, and support the delivery of the Climate and Nature Strategy and Action Plan and their Priorities for 2026.
Alternative options considered
No other membership would not encourage best practice and CPD in the field.
