Decision
Invoke an extension option of the Council’s current Crown Commercial Services framework call-off contract with British Telecommunications PLC for the provision
of Mobile Voice and Data Services.
Reasons for the decision
The Council's existing mobile voice and data services contract is due to expire on 30th September 2026. As the Council continues to use mobile voice and data services to provide telephony and connectivity services to Officers, Councillors and systems, an arrangement to enable continued use was therefore considered necessary at this time.
Alternative options considered
The existing contract has an option for extending a further 12 months with the current provider and solution.
As extension under the Crown Commercial Services framework offers pricing that matches the original agreement, and avoids the cost of migrating to a new provider less than a year before Local Government Reorganisation that may see a wish to align such services across West Surrey in the near future, changing provider was not considered value for money at this time.
