Delegated approval has been granted for the
Council’s Planning Policy team to undertake a five-week
statutory consultation period on the draft Planning Contributions
for Open Space SPD, and the draft Sang and SAMM Tariffs SPD.
The consultation will run between midday on 8 May and midday on 12
June 2024, during which time the SPDs and an Initial Consultation
Statement for each SPD will be available to view on the
consultation portal on the Council’s website. Paper copies of
these documents will also be available at the Council’s
Milmead offices and at the borough’s libraries during the
consultation period. Representations can also be made during this
time, which will be considered to see if any proposed amendments
would be appropriate prior to the SPDs being recommended to the
Executive for formal adoption.
Emails and letters will be distributed at the start of the
consultation period, directly to individuals and organisations who
have requested to be notified of future consultations. A press
release will also be issued.
It is a mandatory legal requirement under Regulation 12 (b) of the
Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) 2012
Regulations (legislation available online at
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2012/767/regulation/12) for
local planning authorities to consult the public on draft
supplementary planning documents for a minimum period of four
weeks.
This public consultation will fulfil the above regulatory
requirements. It will also be in accordance with the
Council’s Statement of Community Involvement of May 2020
(which is available to view at
https://www.guildford.gov.uk/media/31782/SCI-update-May-2020/pdf/Statement_of_community_involvement.pdf?m=1591186284803).
